He was the 2018 Grand Commander of the attack and rescue operation of the prison in Niger State. This attack in Niger prison led to the escape of over 100 prisoner.
THE ARREST OF UMAR
UMAR was arrested by IRT special team yesterday after escaping with bullet wounds three weeks ago in Abuja. Four of his gang members were arrested on the very day Umar escaped with bullet wounds. Four AK47 and hundreds of ammunitions were recovered from them.

According to a statement by Mr. Kyari posted at his Facebook page, “yesterday was a special day for police officers”. There was massive celebration as Umar was arrested. Mr. Abba Kyari stated thus: “Today is one of the happiest day of my life. Massive celebration as the person responsible for hundreds of death of innocent citizens and police officers in Nigeria is apprehended. Kudos to Nigeria police force, kudos to IGP Ibrahim Idris, kudos to IRT”.

Nevertheless, many Nigerians have reacted to the arrest of the first class criminal. All the people that reacted to the arrest are happy with the development.
