Horror As Igbo Community Strips, Parade Young Widow In Superstition; Whereabout Unknown

A young childless widow who lost her husband on Friday, March 11th 2022 was dragged out, striped naked and paraded all over the community same Friday. This is as a result of Superstition in their culture.

Confirmed sources said she was stripped completely naked same Friday and paraded around Otuocha, and Enuobodo Aguleri all I Anambra state.

The young childless widow who hails from Igbo-Ezunu Aguleri in Anambra State of Nigeria lost her husband on Friday.

Those behind this dastardly act alleged that she killing her husband through Adultery. A superstition that existed in olden days.

According to information, no one has seen the woman since after the shameful parade.

An eye witness who does not want his name in print said that he suspects that they may have killed the woman or she might have taken her own life. But whichever is the case, nobody has seen the woman or know her where about since Friday.

However, it has been over 24 hours since the incident. And not a single arrest of persons who humiliated and took this widow has been arrested.

Another Indigene stated that what happened on Friday remains an eyesore and an abomination. And stressed that the Aguleri community are not as backward as these monsters portrayed them yesterday.

It was learnt that the culprits were numbering over 100. And they were headed by the widow’s husband’s relatives.

The source regret that the Otuocha police did nothing to save the widow when she was being paraded along the police station.

“It is a pity that the Police could not save this woman yesterday as they paraded her along the Otuocha police station”. The source said.

It is unfortunate that many communities are still practicing abolished baseless superstitious belief, culture and practices.
