EDO SPEAKER, FRANK OKIYE GETS COVID-19

The Edo Speaker has tested positive to Coronavirus as Governor Obaseki goes into self-isolation.

Frank Okiye, the speaker of Edo state House of Assembly, has tested positive to Coronavirus.

The Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, disclosed this Wednesday while briefing journalists.

This is suspected to be as a result of close contact with the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammed. And Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who have both tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has gone into self-isolation.

However, a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, said the governor has sent his samples for testing.

A report by vanguardngr.com stated thus: “Speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly, Frank Okiye, has tested positive to Coronavirus.

This was confirmed by the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, on Wednesday while briefing journalists.

He said the state is taking measures to tackle further spread of the virus in the state”.
