At the wee hours of today, Iran fires series of missile attacks on US facilities in northern Iraq. This include the Ain al-Asad military base where US troops are stationed.
However, this is coming less than a week after United States killed Qassem Soleimani, one of Iran’s top generals.
The Iranian state television has said that the Revolutionary Guard had attacked Ain al-Asad airbase. And Iran is threatening “more crushing responses” if the US launched any fresh attacks following the Iran’s action.
Also in another statement, Iran has warned all US allies in its region to expect attack if they allow their countries to be used for attacking them.
Nevertheless, the rocket strikes is coming less than a week after the US attack on Soleimani.
Soleimani was killed near Baghdad’s international airport. He was killed with Iraqi paramilitary commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and several others.
