It was an eyesore yesterday as numerous cows were crushed. This happened  at the ever busy Abuja -Kaduna Railway by an oncoming train.

The cows blocked the railline .  Their keepers have kept deaf ears to the daily warning that they should keep their cows out of the railway vicinity.

Reportngr.com learnt that herders have been warned several times to stay away from railway lines and major roads. However,  all the warnings have fallen on deaf ears.

Although no human life was lost, Railway Authorities are not happy with the development.  But it is not clear if they will take legal action on the herdsmen.

Nigerians  on the other hand are not happy with the development.  There are negative reactions from a good number of people.

An eyewitness told reportngr.com that  he is not happy with the herdsmen stating his reasons.  ” I live around this railway area.  These herdsmen are deaf and don’t adhere to simple instructions. They do anything they like anytime they like”.

“This is a railway everyone knows that a train in motion cannot apply brake. These herdsmen block it on daily bases. If you warn them, they come after you. On several occasions, this accident had been averted.  But today, they are not lucky. Allah is merciful,  no human being died. I pray they learn from this”.

Another eyewitness simply identified as Aliyu  was sarcastic and funny.  ” Yes it serves them right. I pray they will not declare war on any train that is passing through the here”. Aliyu stated with a smile.

Nigerians have been warned to stay away from railways to avoid accidents and mishaps. One should bear in mind that a train in motion does not stop on the rail.  Only at Railway stations.

Although no human life was lost, Authorities are not happy with the development.  But it is not clear if they will take legal action on the herdsmen.
