INDONESIA REPORTS FIRST CASES OF CORONAVIRUS

The deadly coronavirus has hit Indonesia. Yesterday, Indonesia announced its first two coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Iran has risen to 66. This makes it the highest outside China where the virus originated in Wuhan area.

However, governments are stepping up efforts to contain infections in Indonesia.

In Italy, the number of infected people has jumped to 1,694. Italy is the centre of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe.

Nevertheless, in France, the figure rose to 130 by the beginning of this week .

Following the rise of the outbreak , the staff at the Louvre in Paris voted to close the iconic museum.

Czech Republic, Scotland and the Dominican Republic have also confirmed first cases.

Moreover, more than 89,000 people across 58 countries have been infected, while the death toll has exceeded 3,000.

Last week, Nigeria confirmed first case of the virus. This was a case of an Italian citizen working at Larfarge cement in Ogun State of Nigeria.

The patient is currently in quarantine facility in Yaba area of Lagos state.

Commendably, Nigeria health experts are working round the clock to see that the Italian regains his health as soon as possible.

The Lagos state commissioner for health also visited the patient last week. And assured the of getting quality health treatment.

In Jos Plateau state of Nigeria, about 3 Chinese have been quarantined. This is following their arrival into Nigeria from China where the virus was first noticed.
