Jamaica In Chaos As Hurricane Melissa Approaches

Jamaicans are currently expecting a ravaging natural disaster tagged Hurricane Melissa.

A citizen, Jessica M Fletcher said “I’m currently stuck in Montego Bay, Jamaica waiting for hurricane Melissa to arrive. Airport closed last night at 8pm. Tonight at 9pm, we are all required to go in our rooms for lockdown until they notify us that it’s safe. The weather service states it will make land fall as CAT5.

Please pray for everyone here on the island whether a resident or visitor. This is going to be catastrophic! Yesterday, the Jamaica Gleaner reported that Eastern Jamaica has begun to experience the effect of the powerful Hurricane Melissa.

Jamaicans are currently expecting a ravaging natural disaster tagged Hurricane Melissa.

The hurricane effect strengthened overnight into a category 4 system, packing maximum winds of 140 miles per hour.

Hurricane Melissa, now a Category 4, is continuing to intensify as it makes its way toward Jamaica, where forecasters say it could make landfall as a Category 5, bringing with it up to 13 feet of storm surge. Extensive infrastructure damage, catastrophic and life-threatening flooding, landslides and power and communication outages are expected for the island nation.

In Port Royal, rising sea levels and intermittent rainfall signal the early stages of storm surge linked to Hurricane Melissa.
